Your Questions, Answered

  • A celebrant is a professionally trained ceremony leader who creates and delivers personalised, meaningful ceremonies for any significant life event. Unlike registrars, who must follow legal scripts, a celebrant has complete freedom to craft a ceremony that reflects your personality, values, beliefs, and story. Every ceremony is written from scratch and shaped around the people at its heart.

  • As a celebrant, I would work closely with you to design a ceremony that is unique, heartfelt, and true to who you are. This includes getting to know you, writing a bespoke script, guiding you through options such as readings and symbolic elements, and delivering the ceremony with warmth and confidence on the day. My role is to ensure your ceremony feels personal, memorable, and authentic.

  • A celebrant cannot legally marry you. You will still need to complete the legal marriage paperwork with a registrar for your marriage to be legally recognised. This is very straightforward to arrange and can either happen before your wedding, or it can be woven into your day, before, or as a part of the ceremony – whichever feels right for you.

  • As you do not need a licence for a celebrant led wedding, you have the freedom to hold your wedding in a location of your choice.

  • Yes absolutely. I can hold a service of celebration of life wherever you would wish for this to be held.

  • This is entirely your choice. Many families prefer to leave most of the funeral service in the hands of the celebrant, which is completely natural and wholly understandable during such a difficult time. If, however, you would like a family member or friend to speak, share a reading, or recite a poem, that is absolutely welcomed. We can discuss these wishes during my home visit and as we shape the ceremony together. If you would like to include hymns or a prayer or particular music, I can easily incorporate those elements too. Your ceremony will always reflect the tone, traditions, and personal touches that feel right for you and your loved ones.
